Team Away Day Ideas In The Hertfordshire Countryside

We all know the benefits of spending more time outdoors. It massively improves physical health, reduces stress and improves your mood. But despite this, studies show about 90% of our time is spent indoors every day.

At Home Farm Glamping, we offer businesses a great opportunity to get up from behind the screens and immerse themselves in nature, which is as good a place as any for a workplace team to reset, bond and breathe in some fresh air. And even better, we’re only 13 miles from central London so easy to reach by train, tube or car / coach for London teams.

Here we’ll be taking you through what a corporate away day might look like at Home Farm.

Team Away Day Activity Ideas

It’s really important to us that your away day is a time for reconnection both with nature and with one another. But first and foremost we want your time at Home Farm to be fun and relaxing. So we work with an extensive list of brilliant partners who provide an array of great activities for your team.

Tailor It To Your Team’s Interests

We’ve hosted corporate groups from Google to Sainsbury’s over the years who have also championed the skills and interests their colleagues have, with their colleagues leading cheese tasting sessions, tarot reading, breathwork classes and sauerkraut making workshops!

One company had their Head of Marketing teaching a sauerkraut making workshop for their colleagues

Slow Down With Mindful Activities

If it’s slowing down that you’re after, where better to do so than in our lush and green meadow. We have a number of partners who will help you take a deep breath and step out of the high pace of the working world for a moment, something we should all try to do more often!

Nick is a fantastic mindfulness teacher who can introduce you to some great techniques that you can take back with you to work and the wider world. We also have wonderful practitioners of forest bathing and nature connection who will guide a harnessing of the power of nature to help you reconnect to yourself and your work.

Yoga and massage treatments are also available for those who want to relax their bodies as well as their minds.

Active Team Building Activities

Perhaps you’ve got a team full of people who love being active and on their feet. In which case we’ve got you covered with a number of outdoor team-building activities. Get your hands dirty with bushcraft and survival skills. Or enlist Tom for his great orienteering, scavenger hunts and fitness sessions, all hugely enjoyable ways to get everyone working together whilst getting the blood pumping. For the more competitive groups out there, we also have archery or laser clay pigeon shooting on offer.

Food & Drink Away Day Ideas

You’re not the kind of group who likes the sound of an active away day? That’s no problem. For the bougier teams out there, we have the options of bespoke gin tasting with a fabulous local distillery, or wine tasting with Jen from the Hertfordshire Wine School. There’s nothing lovelier to do together as a group as the sun sets over our meadow. Speaking of food and drink…

Catering For Your Team Away Day

Food During Your Company Away Day

We partner exclusively with the hugely talented local catering team at Gregory’s Kitchen. Greg will work closely with you to build the perfect menu of a deliciously diverse array of street food or gourmet barbeque for your team. Greg and his team have years of experience of working with the freshest, highest quality ingredients in order to deliver memorable food and make memorable events. Take it from us, we know first hand just how spectacular his food is.

No Corkage Fee

If you need something to wash down those delectable dishes, then you can either bring along your own supply of booze (we don’t charge corkage!), or you can enlist the fantastic team at Honest Folk.

Choose from the options of a more traditional bar or a quirky airstream bar which can be brought to our meadow and serve your team a tempting range of cocktails, wines and beers.

Music Options For Your Away Day

We allow groups to play amplified music (DJ or live band) until 22.30pm, or you can choose to have silent disco until this time - whatever works for you!

Looking For Somewhere To Stay Overnight During Your Team Away Day?

Well, we have the solution! After a long day out in the fields, there really is nothing better than couching down in one of our delightful bell tents or yurts. Our quaint and pretty site will sleep up to 40 people in its regular capacity but for those larger groups we can get an extra bell tent village organised.

All of our tents have top-of-the-range bedding to keep you warm, a Weber BBQ outside on the decking, as well as solar-powered fairy lights which light up the meadow gorgeously after dark. You can also gather around the three fire pits for a charming end to the day (we provide the marshmallows!). There’s nothing quite like team bonding with spending the evening in the great outdoors, and away from screens.

We love how one company decorated all of our glamping tents! Why not bring some extra decor for the true festival feel

At Home Farm we provide the perfect getaway for any office., and help you pull together ideas for a fun team away day agenda. Whether you want to slow down and relax, get active and breathe in some fresh air, or gorge on some mouth-watering food (or all of the above!), then our meadow is the perfect place for your team to get out of the city for a day or two and reconnect.
